About your Culture!

Explain in a short paragraph describing Indian things (exclusively in your native place) that tourists might come across? Write descriptions with the structure “… is similar to… but more…/…. er”, for example “A cafe is similar to a restaurant but more small and informal”, adding more information if you like, e.g. “… and you usually drink coffee or tea”.

Chennai is my birthplace. So that's my hometown. The most iconic spots of it are it's heritage sites. Chennai was under British control too so they have these interesting British architectural buildings. Chennai is also a good place to buy good stuff at cheap prices. Pretty much everything is available. It's a very diverse city that one can meet different types of people from all over India. So Chennai is not only a Tamil city as it's got many number of different ppl from different states. It's a very welcoming city.

  18. I'm from Chennai, the most favourite place of many citizens known
mainly for its job oppurtunities . The most suitable name i could
give to it would be "city of lavishness". i really love my hometown because of its unique way of maintaining its touchability with common people inspite of many differences in their community ,religion , caste and colour. It is a developing place in human technology and communication. There are many places to be visited in this city and various food cultures are followed. Im very proud of my hometown which is a reason behind development of human touchability which is mostly needed in our country.

It is mostly like any fort through out the country although this one is built on top of a really old rock that may be formed over millions of years ago, not only that but there also lies a temple through out the entire fort which is being worshiped by over 100s of locals and tourists every day, it is truly a site to visit if one ever comes to Trichy.

  22. Kolar is a small town located in Karnataka . It was once famous for gold mining. Just like Chennai it's quite diverse culturally, people from various backgrounds who came to work at the mines have settled here. Life here is very calm and peaceful compared to the busy and hectic life in Chennai. There are a lot of temple and trekking places around the town. Compared to Chennai the life is very slow here. Of course clean air and blue sky is something one can't always find in Chennai. About the climate, summers in Chennai is hot and humid and summers there in the morning is super hot but the evening always brings chill breeze and light drizzle and in the winters the temperature might drop 8 to 9 degree Celsius.

Chennai is my hometown and I love to live in Chennai. Chennai have a great history and it is a place where a lot of British architecture references in it can be seen. It is said that Chennai is owned by a king chinnapadas and the Dutch people named it chinnapa pattinam and later the British named it Madras.
Madras! What a name! People still love to call Chennai as "Madras" because it is an emotion. Some say that Chennai is a word and Madras is an emotion.
Then before Independence (1947) British people found that "chinnapa pattinam" is original name for Madras and named it chinnappa pattinam and later it has changed to Chennai.
Chennai is the second safest City in India. Chennai has many IT parks to employ any kind of people. In Chennai people have a lot of Scopes to live. That's why Chennai is said that"it gives lives to people comes to it" and I love to be a "Chennai vasi". I am really proud to say I'm a Chennaiette
